Storyteller Simon Brooks is Coming to the Library! Two Day Event- July 15th and 16th

Friday July 15th, 5:30-6:30pm

Friday, July 15th at 5:30, the Rockwell Falls Public Library will be hosting British storyteller, humorist, and author Simon Brooks as he continues his mission to keep the art of storytelling alive. The Friday show is an adult show with themes not suitable for young children, so ages sixteen and up are recommended. Although Simon’s stories may have adult themes, they will be more in the line of bawdy and not inappropriate for a library program. Stories will include an original true story about part of his childhood in Worcester, England; the story of a married man and a woman who one day come across a demon; a love story from Scotland; and, if time allows, a short tale from London. Normally, the library is closed at this time, but will be extending its hours for the program.

Saturday July 16th, 12:00-1:00pm

Simon will be returning to the library the following day for a show for all ages- whether you are five, or one hundred and five! His stories are told with humor, a nudge, and a wink, so adults will be entertained as much as children. Stories fitting our summer reading program theme of “Oceans of Possibilities” could include The Chestnut Tree (Japan), Kobold on Board (Scandinavia), The Laidly Wyrm (UK), and The Selkies Farewell (Scotland). Additionally, there will be other tales and stories from around the world to choose from.
